Great news!

Well this week was interesting, my comp and I with crazy challenges to be able to find new investigators. We are sharing the ward with 2 other missionaries.. and we are in the area without any members...which makes it very hard, but that's the best part, when things aren't hard they aren't fun, and nothing is learned. just like LeBron James last night, things got tough, but that didn't shake him haha.
No, but really, it's true, I was reading the talk again by Elder Oaks this last conference on opposition in all things, and it's so true. Many many people don't understand, they don't see or have the eternal perspective. We are here to become like our Heveanly Father. He knows best, so why not Him to give us the tests, the trials, to become like Him.  I love that. I think we all doubt that at some time in our lives, when we are in a trial we don't like, or one where we think is unbearable. We forget this principle. It's game 7. We are falling off that cliff and we need to trust that last little branch that can save us. Christ. but not only save us, but redeem us. or better said change us, and help us become like Him. Like Elder Oaks put it, opposition is a vehicle that carries us to become like Christ.

We are learning a ton here. I love my comp. I think I am his favorite companion so far haha, not trying to brag haha.

I got the best news this week, well lots of news haha. Steven Sanchez came to our ward to visit me, it was aweesome!! He brought me panchapla, my favorite bread from Ayacucho haha.

I also got to talk to Jose Frisancho, who is coming to visit me later  today, I'm pumped about that. But the best news that I heard from him was, that he is going to get married in the temple in August!!!! Literally the most exciting thing for me to hear that my best friend is going to make higher covenants which will allow him to become like his Father in heaven. I was and am so happy when I heard that.

He also told me how all the hermanos are doing from Chorrillos. I miss that place. Norma and Wilmer are still active. Norma's in the releif society. super exciting.
Just like I heard last week from Elder Godoy, how we really don't see the fruits of what we do in the mission until years later.

I love the mission.

I love you family

The Continuous Atonement

Well, I don't have much to say, just that things are super strange. Considering that I won't be a missionary soon... never thought that would happen, that's for sure...
However, we had a huge privilege to see Elder Rasband this past week. It was so wonderful to see him and to get to shake his hand and feel the power that he has. Wow, was it just wonderful. He spoke of how, when he shakes the hands of the missionaries, he looks into their eyes and how he can tell how that certain missonary is doing. And how sometimes there's a missionary who doesn't look into his eyes. I thought that was so interesting to hear. And how it applies in a lot of things with parents and how it happens to us as missionaries as well. The eyes are the light of the world. The spirit was so strong in that meeting. I will never forget that moment. It is crazy how we have had two visits from 2 of the 12 apostles come and visit us in the last year or so. It has been so special.
I have been learning so much this past week in that amazing book, The continuous atonement, here are some quotes I love:

The repenting sinner must suffer for his sins, but this suffering has a different purpose than punishment or payment. Its purpose is change.

God's love is found not ony in the ark but also in the flood.

Earthly life is not merely a way of proving myself to them, but also a way for them to prove their love to me.

Doing is only a means of being.

I love this one because I like to think of the hymn, I am a child of God.
*teach me all that I must BE.

I love the mission, which allows me to learn all of these wonderful principles of the Gospel.

Saving & Redeeming

Here is one pic of us with our favorite family, they are so nice to us. Willy and Nelly.
This week we were able to teach, the Alarcon family, or the fire family. We have been helping them get clothes donated from the ward, and with household items. They are just the most humble family, very sincere as well.
We got free Keiko shirts after getting contacted by a drunk man in the street, Keiko is a canadate for the elections.
I learned something very important this week and it was of course about Christ.
How he is our Savior and Redeemer. And how there is a difference, between saving and redeeming. The importance of redeeming and how grace we are all saved and redeemed or in other words changed reformed or transformed and through this we are allowed into his presence, not just to live with him but also AS Him. I love this truth.
I love you all
